She was born and grew up surrounded by music. Her aunt and her grandma were jazz singers, in the fifties her father was a gospel-jazz singer, and also her mother and brother sang. " Our house was like a music joint, singing, drinking, dancing and playing blues". Since 1997, she regularly showed up in the most well known nightclubs, in Chicago. In 2004 her first album, " Hard Driving' Woman" was released. Influenced by Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Etta James she loves to sing gospel, soul, blues and rock. Due to this diversity she is known as the princess of Rockin' Gospel Blues.

Sharrie Williams move you with her calm side as well as with her powerful one. With a perfect voice that she manages using all the nuances, from the whisper to the stronger sound. She got great recognition in her country and also in Europe. Her new album " Out of the dark" is already bringing her happiness. She has just gotten the prize of the Paris Jazz Academy and the Blues Awards 2012 nomination.
