The JB’s James Brown Original Band

James Brown, presented to the world a new language, the language of Funk.
"The James Brown Sound", which transcended beyond the barriers of music, religion, politics, culture, races ...

In these 50 years, James Brown's music has lasted through the decades, through social changes, styles of music and personal struggles. They have enjoyed their music billions of people around the world. And always, there was a band, THE JB'S. That now, they are back.

The JB'S has a full repertoire of James Brown concerts, led by Matha High, lead singer of JB's since 1964, before that, was in bands like the Rainbows, the Marquees (Marvin Gaye), and Billy Stewart (first cousin of Grace Ruffin's), currently also leads the band Speedometers and tour since year 95 with Maceo Parker.

Also noteworthy is the great Danny Ray, master of ceremonies of Mr.Brown since 1960, musician and also producer at this time, bassist Fred Thomas and drummer Tony Cook who entered the band in 1971, not forgetting Tyrone Jefferson, musical director of the band from 1976, date in which the great Fred Wesley went, that luckily, is also in this great band, musical director and co-author of many of the subjects with Brown from the late sixties, along with Hollie Farris, Joe Collier and Jeff Watkins, metal section set to "knock down" any venue, or singer Cynthia Moore (the betterweets).

This project is the only one backed and endorsed by the family of James Brown, which through the James Brown Family Foundation uses part of this money collected by JB'S to realize programs of music for young people in order not to miss this language and to transmit the legacy of Mr. Brown. These young people are always children with little or no resources to afford an education, they also collaborate with the most disadvantaged in other areas.
